Spring Reflections & The Joy of Easter

Shallow waters on an evening stroll

Easter on Femø was truly unforgettable – the island came alive with warmth, flavour, and connection. This spring has been exceptional, revealing the quiet magic of nature and deepening my love for this place.

Each year, I feel more rooted here. With that, my awareness grows – especially of how important bread has become during the Easter season. For many, a visit to Femø now includes a warm loaf from Højriis – sourdough made with care, using local ingredients. It's become part of the tradition.

Bread, Nature & Belonging

At Højriis, I’ve had the joy of welcoming wonderful guests – people who value time together, meaningful conversation, and shared meals. They walk, rest, laugh, and enjoy nourishing food in a cosy, homely setting.

It’s the kind of experience that stays with you – simple, yet rich in soul.

Looking Ahead – Creative & Cultural Experiences

I’m excited to share what’s coming next:

  • Albertines Workshop – creativity and connection through arts & crafts

  • Femø Fortællefestival – storytelling rooted in local culture

  • Kvindelejren – a gathering of women in strength and sisterhood

Whether it’s a hiking trip, a craft retreat, or simply quiet time by the sea, I delight in helping guests create memories that nourish both body and spirit.

A Home Away From Home

After a day immersed in nature, there’s nothing better than returning to a warm fire and a lovingly prepared meal. Højriis offers more than a place to stay – it offers connection, calm, and flavour.

Come for the bread. Stay for the experience.
